Day 1 Task

Look at this picture of a Scottish wild cat:

It has been labeled with expanded noun phrases. This is when more detail has been added to the noun by adding one or more adjectives e.g.  long, thin whiskers.  If there is more than one adjective it should be separated with a comma.

Using expanded noun phrases, draw and label at least four features of ‘The Siamese Cat’ in your neatest handwriting.
If you use two describing words in a phrase, put a comma between them.

Here is some vocabulary to help you:
Nouns: fur, paws, tail, ears, eyes, legs, body, face
Adjectives: black, white, fluffy, smooth, long, wiggly, large, triangular, sleek, staring, blue, pointy, bright, small, elegant, regal, delicate, neat,

Challenge: On lined paper, write a full, punctuated sentence explaining which cat (Wildcat or Siamese) you prefer. Continue writing and explain your choice. How many reasons can you give?

This is the multiplication symbol:  X   It is a quicker way of writing groups of or lots of.

Task:
Draw this table into your book and complete the addition and multiplication sentences for each picture:
