Today we are learning to: Add equal groups

Look at these groups:

There are 2 equal groups with 3 in each group. There are 6 apples altogether.

We can also write : 3 + 3 = 6

On a piece of paper, copy these circles and number sentences. Draw objects in the circles to match the number sentences:

1.

2.

3.            2      +      2    +    2     =      6

Now draw circles and objects to match these number sentences.

4.    4 + 4 = 8
5.     1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 5
6.     5 + 5 +5 + 5 = 20
7.     2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 8
8     3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 15

R.E.
Our RE unit for this term is: What can we learn from sacred books?
This week we are learning: Which stories are special to us?

Think about your favourite story. Why do you like it? What makes it special?
Draw a picture of either the front cover or your favourite part of the story. Underneath write the sentence.
My favourite story is…… This story is special because………
If you like you can share some of your story in our ‘Show and Tell’ session and explain why you like it.
