In green class we have talking about the signs of Spring.

Phonics Play is a fun website which allows children to practice their phonics sounds and word reading skills. We use it a lot in year 1 and the children love it. 

While schools are closed you can access this for free at home.

Measuring in year 1

Year 1 have been busy measuring things. First we used scales to weigh objects and find out how heavy they were using cubes.

We then used cubes to see how long different objects were.

London Zoo

Our topic this term is wild animals.

Where do materials come from?

Green class had a think about where materials like wood, metal, glass, fabric and plastic come from. Come and ask us if you are not sure.

We found out paper is made from wood, which means we have to cut down trees to make new paper.

We had a go at making our own recycled paper.

Counting to 50

Green class have been practising our numbers up to 50. We used 10 frames to count in 10s to find out how many objects we could hold in one hand.
