Here is another Traction Man story for you enjoy!
Our spring term topic is Castles. But before we really explore the history I think we need to think about our own history! History is the story of things that have happened in the world. History is often shown on a timeline. This is a line that shows everything in the past going up to the present day. Look at the examples below:
This shows the dinosaurs, along time ago, and on the other end man landing on the moon, in more recent times.
If we make a time line of our own life, it can start when we were born and add things that have happened to us each year..
Activity: Can you make a timeline of your own? Draw pictures to show things that might have happened to you, like being born, starting to walk, loosing a tooth, starting school, going on holiday.
This is a witch, but which witch?
She’ll be flying into our classroom next week…..
This week in school we are busy making thank you cards for all the people who have helped us over lock down and the school re-opening.
Who has helped you with your learning at home? Can you make a thank you card for them? Here are a few examples to give you some ideas.
You should be receiving your packs this week, with lots of things to keep you busy in the Summer holidays. Don’t forget to keep reading, using Bug Club.
Here are some fun seaside activities to keep you going this week.
We have been enjoying the seaside for hundreds of years! If you live in London, you might go to Southend on Sea, Walton on the Naze or Broadstairs or Margate.
There are lots of things to do, from finding seashells, eating ice cream, making a sandcastle, riding a donkey or watching a Punch and Judy show. This is a special puppet show popular at the seaside.
Activity 1
Watch these films to find out all about Punch and Judy.

Activity 2
Using small pieces of paper make some ice creams, in different flavours, with lots of scoops!
You can even make very real looking ice creams, by twisting a piece of paper to make the cone and filling them with tissue or paper, whatever you can find.
Activity 3
Read this poem. What do you like about it? Can you find all the rhymes?
We used clay to make our own gruffalo models. We read the description very carefully to make sure we got him looking right.
This week we are continuing to think about counting numbers up to 100. The sheets in your pack also practice this.

This week we are trying to find out about an animal by looking very, very closely.
Can you go on an animal hunt in your local area – you might find an ant, lady bird or a snail. Watch it closely for as long as you can and see what you can find out.
Maybe you could then look in a book or on the internet and see what else you can find out about your animal.
