Creative home learning.

Excited, elated, eager; Ihsaan from year 4 started to organise his resources that he received from school. He looked at different ways to sort them and started using them straight away. Well done Ihsaan. He also wrote a thankyou letter.

How are you using your creative packs?

The History Detectives: Creative Challenge!

Each week we are going to ask you to guess a mystery object.

Objects made by people are called artefacts. Some have stories and they can tell us lots of things about the past.  Especially if we ask these questions:

What are they made of? What are they for? How are they used?  How were they made? Who owned them? Were they expensive? Do we still have them today?

Mysterious objects. This is a picture of a famous example.  It’s known as the Roman Dodecahedron.  Experts have not been able to guess what it was. It is made of metal and is about the size of a large orange. What do you think?

Guesses have included: a candlestick, a type of dice, a knitting frame; and the list goes on!

So watch this space,  I’ll be posting the first mystery object next week.  Tell me what you think the object is (you could also tell me what it is made from and how old you think it is).

Make a folding house!

Why not try to make this easy house? All you need is two cereal boxes, some tape and pens to decorate.  Visit redtedart.com to find instructions to make the frame.

Here are some photos of the house we made at home, we used old wrapping paper and bits of fabric too. You can make it for any small toy, lego, or playmobil. Then just fold it up to store it!  Happy making, Jo

You could even make one for trains or cars…..

Year 1 art at home

Look at this lovely painting that Sahiba in year 1 has completed. She has painted the trees and spring flowers that she has seen on her daily walks. Very cheerful!

She has also drawn a flower in the style of Georgia O’Keefe. See the year 1 blog to see the pictures Sahiba was aiming to copy.
