EYFS challenge of the week 4th May

We are going to have a challenge of the week. An activity you can take your time over and work with lots of different people to perfect. Maybe you could email in your finished work or upload it to EExAT! This week it is to make a marble run for something round and get it as far as you can around your home. See if you can use paper to design it first. Maybe you could record how many goes it took you to get it right. I wonder who could measure to see how far theirs went?

I did it as an egg run and it took me at least 40 goes to get it to work and even then the one we recorded needed a little help! You can click here to see my try.

For more inspiration have a look at this video by Ok Go. You can see it took them a lot of tries because they are all covered in paint. And look at all the people at the end who helped them!  Continue reading

Birthday Balloon Fun

Lots of us have had birthdays at home this April so here’s something fun to do with the leftover balloons if you have any.  Special happy birthday to Hannah and Amelia who have their birthdays this week!

If you’re like me and don’t have fly swats in the house I made a little video to show you other ways to make a bat here.

Rainbows

People have been putting up the colourful creations in their windows to help cheer others up and raise a smile as they spend more time inside.

It’s also fun spotting them if you go out for a walk! So, we want to see your drawings. Whether it’s a bright rainbow, or even a smiley face or multi-coloured handprint.
